This was my brother’s favorite treat when he was growing up.  He used to request this instead of cake for his birthday!  This recipe dates from the 1960’s.  My daughter made this for the first time recently and it was a big hit! Ingredients: ¼ cup butter 1 x 10 ounce bag of marshmallows ½ teaspoon vanilla extract 6 cups Kellogg's Rice Krispies cereal Use gentle low heat to carefully melt the butter in a large pot that can hold more than the 6 cups of cereal.  Add the marshmallows and stir everything on low heat until everything is melted, then stir in the vanilla. Finally, stir in the cereal until it is all well coated, then spread this mixture into a 13 by 9 inch baking pan. It helps to coat a rubber spatula with a little melted butter to help with the spreading of the mixture into the pan.  No more cooking is necessary!  Just let the mixture cool in the pan, cut into bars or squares and serve!
